November 14th,2014 The Journey Begins

Greetings!

On November 14, 2014 I will embark on a year-long journey backpacking around the world!  This plan has been in the making for 7 years! My husband, Robert, the love of my life, and my dog, Leo, that I adore, will stay behind. Robert will meet me in Africa in March. In June he will meet me in Spain to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary. Other friends and relatives are  meeting me along the way. If you have travel plans maybe we can cross paths.

You can follow my travels on my blog here at www.soulypositive.com. I will have email, skype, viber, and limited phone access. Internet access may be limited at times so be patient with me if I don’t respond right away to messages.

Here is my contact information:
Website – www.soulypositive.com
Email – homes@verinet.com

Thank you for your support and good thoughts as I depart for my adventure. I look forward to seeing you upon my return. I will have a fresh perspective on the world and no doubt a lot of stories!!!

Sincerely,

Leigh Ann Peters

Love you too! I wish you were traveling right by my side;). You were right about the toiletries..HEAVY! I have already given away a bug repellent to a fellow backpacker in need;). So far though have not regretted cute boots;). Love you my friend.

      1. Louise Beckett

Loved hearing from you! I laughed a lot when you told me about the toiletries… I SURE HOPE you come back with those boots-that will make a great story…I check your blog every day, wish I was with you too! If only I was rich…:) On to NZ, the land of the friendly people and sheep.

        1. leighann Post author

Hi Louise! I am wearing the cute boots as I write and I’m still glad I have them…it’s in the 60’s here and I have mostly warm weather clothing…the toiletries are a burden though. We’ll see how long it takes me to lose my vanity etc. My hair is so frickin big now it shouldn’t be long:) I’ve had mostly wonderful days but the last couple have been rough. I know I’ll get the hang of it soon though…wish I had planned better before I left. I assumed I could just jump on the internet at any time and figure it out. My bad…still searching for the friendly people and sheep. Hopefully I’ll find thenm soon.

So excited for you. Can you come home now? Walking around the lake sucks without my walking buddy. It has been freezing cold since you have left and the neighborhood thinks they lost they’re homeless person. I told them you went to the shelter. Haha!!! Love you and know you will have a wonderful trip. Please send pictures as soon as you have some so that I can show everyone when I walk that you really were training and not camping in the creek.. All my good thoughts are with you girl. Miss you!

    1. leighann Post author

Ha ha;). Miss my walking buddy too…maybe you should leave the neighborhood and come with me. Please tell the neighbors the homeless girl will return in a year sans backpack;). Hope you are still loving your new job..I’m loving my new job as awkward traveller! Love to the family…miss all of you.
